Blog #1: About Me

Welcome to the Is it Legal Blog! I am an attorney who is licensed to practice law in Alaska and Georgia. I practice primarily in family law and criminal defense. I was licensed by the State of Alaska in 2021, and since that time, I have gained significant trial experience (both in family law and criminal defense). In a short period, I have been the lead attorney in over 40 trials, resolved multi-million-dollar divorce cases, and handled misdemeanor and felony cases of all degrees.

I decided to write this blog so that I have a space where I can organize and articulate the things that I have learned (and continue to learn) in my practice. I believe the information in this blog will be helpful to attorneys and non-attorneys alike, and so, it will be a success if one person learns something from it.

I intend to write in an informal and conversational tone and I assume the reader has no prior knowledge of American law. I intend to post one blog each week. A lot of the blog posts (at least initially) will cover commonly asked questions. If you have a question you have been dying to ask an attorney, please let me know in the box below and I may turn it into a blog.
